Petit Vega 28 Meses En Barrica 2017

The wines of Petit Vega from Ribera del Duero is a personal project by Isaac Fernández Montaño, who is one of the most renowned oenologists in Ribera del Duero. He has been chief oenologist at several excellent wineries such as MAURO, VALDERIZ and NEO and his wines have always achieved great recognition. Thus, several of the wines have scored over 95 points by Robert Parker. Petit Vega offers quality wines at reasonable prices.

Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Tempranillo. Hand-harvested from approx. 30-50 year old vines located at an altitude of 900 meters of San Juan Del Monte Ribera Del Duero - Clayey-calcareous soil.

Taste Profile: Petit Vega 28 Meses En Barrica has a blackberry and cassis liqueur nose with touches of balsamic and minerals. Powerful and tasty palate with plenty of overripe fruit flavours and layers of coffee, cocoa and liquorice notes. 

Winemaking Process: 100% de-stemmed grapes. Fermentation under controlled temperature in French oak tanks. Thereafter, the wine is barrel aged for 28 months exclusively in French oak barrels and another 18 months in bottle.
