Domaine Jean Fournier Marsannay Saint Urbain 2022
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Pinot Noir from Burgundy, France
The Fournier name is one of the oldest in the historical records in the village of Marsannay-la-Cote, first appearing in the 17th century. Fournier's current holdings cover 17 hectares of vines, with many ranging between 20 and 70 years old and covering the most lauded sites of the AOP
Taste Profile: The attack is lively and delicate, and the wine unfolds slowly on a very straight frame. This wine is full-bodied but extends in length and does not disperse in an indeterminate explosion of flavours. Clean and elegant, it ends with notes of discreet spices.
Winemaking Process: The fruit goes through a 50% whole buch press, with maceration done in concrete vats using only natural yeast. After pressing, wines are aged in barrels (30% new oak) for one year then aged in used demi-muids for nine months or even more as Laurent has been pushing for longer ageing
