Ghost Rock Supernatural Pet Nat 2025
Ghost Rock is a cornerstone of Tasmania’s Cradle Coast, founded by the Arnold family and instrumental in shaping the region’s reputation over the past two decades. Today, the estate is led by second-generation winemaker Justin Arnold alongside his wife, Alicia Peardon.
The vineyards sit on varied expressions of volcanic clay, from loam to sand, carefully farmed to manage vigour and preserve balance. The result is a quietly confident range of wines that reflect both site and season: precise, cool-climate expressions shaped by experience rather than ego.
The Supernatural labels are their natural series - Nothing added, nothing taken away, these are 'natural' drops made in small volumes
Grape Varietals & Region: A blend of Chardonnay & Pinot Noir from Cradle Coast, in the north of Tasmania, Australia. The Pet Nat was sourced from their earlier ripening blocks
Taste Profile: With the perfect amount of fizz, the palate is a balance of natural juiciness and a fresh acidity. Fuchsia pink in the glass... wine rarely looks this flamboyant. Bouncy aromas of bubblegum, tropical guava, wild 'starburst' cherry and candied musk sticks with fresh cut grass and a complex yeastiness. This is seriously wild.
The mouthfeel is lively and refreshing, with a pleasantly rustic edge that adds character
WInemaking Process: The Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes were picked seperately, pressed for juice, and held cold in the winery until ready for their marriage (blending). The Pinot/Chardonnay juice combination was then warmed up, and allowed to be fermented by our population of wild winery yeast. Just when the ferment starts to slow, we quickly send it to the bottling shed, so that the final leg of fermentation occurs in a sealed bottle
