Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Pinot Noir from Domaine Delaporte's parcels in Chavignol, the Sancerre village famous for its goat cheese and for some of the appellation's most varied soils — the Delaporte family's 24 hectares span flint (silex), limestone and clay across more than 30 separate plots.

Taste Profile: Deep ruby-violet in the glass, with ripe cherry, blackberry and raspberry on the nose alongside cooked red fruit, roasted coffee, graphite and cinnamon; round and smooth on the attack, with tight tannins and notes of smoke and prune carrying through the finish — ready now but built to hold a few more years.

Winemaking Process: Fruit from the Delaporte family's Chavignol parcels is vinified with the same care given to their more famous Sauvignon Blanc, prioritising freshness and structure over extraction or heavy oak.

Winemaker: Domaine Delaporte has passed from father to son in Chavignol since the 17th century; Matthieu Delaporte has run the 24-hectare estate since 2010, working across more than 30 parcels of flint, limestone and clay to show that Sancerre's reputation for white wine doesn't tell the whole story.
