Château La Création Pomerol 2015
Two miles from Pétrus, one mile from Le Pin — a hidden little gem in the same Pomerol neighbourhood as wine royalty.
Grape Varietals & Region: 61% Merlot, 33% Cabernet Franc and 6% Cabernet Sauvignon. The 45-year-old vines thrive in a spectacular terroir, with soils formed of compact, clayey, sandy gravel, and a subsoil of iron-rich clay, commonly known as crasse de fer — Pomerol's watermark.
Taste Profile: An attractive nose, showing aromas of red cherry and blackcurrant. The palate is medium-bodied with red berries, cedar and a faint sea mist on the attack. An extremely balanced wine with a long and lively finish.
Winemaking Process: Everything in the vineyard is hand-worked, with a cellar equipped for precise, low-intervention winemaking.
Winemaker: Château La Création was known as Château Tour Robert until 2012, when it was purchased and renamed by the Gaye family — a well-established Bordeaux family that also owns Château Grand Corbin Manuel in Saint-Émilion Grand Cru. The name change marked a fresh chapter for the property's roughly 11 acres, tucked into Pomerol's best neighbourhood without the price tag that usually comes with the address.
